Product description
Protect workers, reduce fire risks, and improve productivity by storing flammable fuels and chemicals in code-compliant safety cabinets. Designed to meet OSHA and NFPA 30 standards, Sure-Grip® EX cabinets are constructed of sturdy 1 mm thick double-wall, welded steel with 38 mm of insulating air space for fire resistance. High-performance, self-latching doors close easily and securely for maximum protection under fire conditions. Fail-safe closing mechanism ensures three-point stainless steel bullet latching system works every time. For added security, U-Loc™ handle comes with a cylinder lock and key set or accepts an optional padlock. Haz-Alert™ reflective warning labels are highly visible under fire conditions or during power outages when illuminated with a flashlight. Patented SpillSlope® galvanized steel shelves direct spills to back and bottom of a 51 mm leakproof bottom sump. They adjust to 76 mm centres for versatile storage. Cabinets also feature dual vents with flame arresters, four adjustable self-levelling feet, grounding connector and trilingual warning label. Durable lead-free epoxy/polyester powder-coat finish provides excellent chemical resistance. These cabinets are FM-approved and come with a ten-year warranty. Available in manual close or self-close. Available in grey or red on request.
Selling Points
  • 1-mm thick double-wall welded steel with 38-mm of insulating air space
  • Adjustable patented SpillSlope® galvanized steel shelves
  • 51-mm leakproof sump
  • 3-point stainless steel bullet latching system
  • U-Loc™ handle with two keys

Protect workers and reduce fire risks by storing flammable fuels and chemicals in OSHA- and NFPA-compliant safety cabinets.

  • U-Loc™ handle locks with a key or padlock

For added security, U-Loc™ handle comes with a cylinder lock and key set or accepts an optional padlock. The flush, non-protruding design is safe for personnel passing by.

  • Double wall construction provides fire resistance

The cabinet's sturdy steel double-wall construction consists of two 1mm thick walls and a 38mm insulating air space in between. The air gap helps prevent the temperature inside the cabinet from rising in the event of a fire, protecting the stored hazardous materials and allowing enough time for personnel to evacuate.

  • Dual vents allow ventilation inside the cabinet

The cabinets feature dual vents with stainless steel fire arresters that allow ventilation inside the cabinet and prevent the release of potential VOCs. Additionally, the stainless steel fire arresters prevent flashback ignition in the event of a fire.

  • Adjustable shelves direct spills to the back and bottom of the cabinet

The patented SpillSlope® galvanized steel shelves will direct any potential spills to the back and bottom of the cabinet, away from personnel, and into the leakproof sump. The frames are adjustable to match the needs of every workspace. Additional shelves are available.

FAQ
Why are these cabinets needed?
The NFPA and the IFC have adopted regulations that specify how to properly store hazardous materials. Justrite’s commitment to safety, by providing products in sync with evolving industry demands, led us to create products for our customers to maintain compliance with applicable regulations. An industry first, Justrite’s hazardous material safety cabinets comply with NFPA 1 Fire Code and IFC regulations concerning the storage of hazardous materials. For more details surrounding these requirements, see our TechTALK, Hazardous Material Safety Cabinets – The Regs.
What types of chemicals should be stored in these cabinets?
These cabinets are intended to store corrosive solids and liquids, flammable solids, organic peroxide formulations, oxidizer solids and liquids, pyrophoric solids and liquids, toxic or highly toxic solids and liquids, unstable (reactive) solids or liquids, and water-reactive solids or liquids. Always ensure that incompatible materials are stored in separate cabinets, and consult your local code authority for any other items in question.

Does my safety cabinet need to be grounded?
It is necessary to ground a safety cabinet if you are dispensing liquids from container(s) inside the cabinet, and the potential of an ignitable vapor is possible. This is not to preclude one from grounding all cabinets as a best practice. Please see our TechTALK on Safety Cabinet Grounding for further information.
