TuffTrak Ground Protection Solutions came to life when founder, Iain Brown, remortgaged his house to set up Zigma Ground Solutions back in 2007. Today the Stansted-based business has been renamed TuffTrak taking its name from its market-leading temporary roadway matting brand. As designers, manufacturers, and suppliers of temporary access and ground protection solutions, we aim to provide our customers with innovative ‘best in class’ products delivering the highest levels of performance, value, and safety at all times. We are committed to ensuring our products meet the ever-changing and demanding conditions within the civil engineering, transmission, renewable energy, oil & gas, infrastructure, groundwork, and leisure event industries. Specialist in providing temporary trackways and ground protection when moving heavy equipment over the soft or delicate ground.
TuffTrak’s in-house team designs the products, which include TuffTrak ST, that supports loads of up to 150 tons. TuffTrak’s products are predominantly made from recycled materials and are used by companies such as the National Grid and the Environment Agency. From its base in the UK exports to the Americas, continental Europe, the Middle East, and Australasia helped turnover rise from 2013 leading to its acquisition later in 2015. Zigma Ground Solutions began with a simple vision: to be a dynamic and growing organization dedicated to saving lives and protecting assets by delivering innovative safety products. That vision still drives TuffTrak today. With our product line of ground protection solutions, TuffTrak has created reliable ground-based safety solutions for our customers. Heavy Duty Temporary Access Matting
TuffTrak® offers the largest range of heavy-duty temporary access and ground protection matting solutions available on the market. With over 40,000 mats deployed worldwide, TuffTrak delivers a solution for all heavy-duty applications, including a range of solid composite mats, overlap mats ideal for use as working pads for heavy equipment or machinery and lightweight heavy-duty matting delivering the benefits of performance with a lower transportation cost. All TuffTrak heavy duty matting is fast and easy to deploy into temporary roadways and are easily moved around the site increasing site safety and reducing the risk of downtime.
Medium Duty Temporary Access Matting
For effective man-handleable access, TuffTrak®’s medium-duty mats are the market leaders. Ideal for temporary access and ground protection over soft or sensitive ground and for loads up to 120 tons, our range of medium-duty mats is essential for use within the construction, civil engineering, and ground work industries. Available in a range of sizes, traction surfaces, and colours, there is a solution to match your project needs.
Outrigger Crane Pads
TuffTrak®’s outrigger crane pads are manufactured from premium Polyethylene. Of tough and durable construction, our outrigger crane pads do not absorb water, will not rot, and are chemically inert. . Being made from Polyethylene, our outrigger crane pads will not splinter, offer high resistance to vertical pressure, and form to the ground below delivering a safer, more stable, base for crane outriggers.
GeoGrid Cellular Grid Paving System
Sustainable Urban Drainage Solution (SUDS) compliant, GeoGrid can be infilled with grass or gravel to deliver an aesthetically pleasing and eco-friendly solution to driveways, access roads, and car parks. GeoGrid’s unique interlocking design provides fast and easy installation making it an economical alternative to block paving. Available as ‘Standard’ and ‘Premium’ GeoGrid is hard-wearing and capable of weight loads of up to 500t making GeoGrid equally suitable for domestic and heavy traffic commercial use.
