The Safe-T-Vent™ Thermally-Actuated Cabinet Damper is a critical component for achieving proper ventilation in flammable liquid and hazardous material storage cabinets. It ensures the safe release of odors, toxins, ignitable vapors, and dust while maintaining the cabinet’s fire-resistant integrity. FM-approved for use with Justrite safety cabinets, this damper provides a compliant and reliable solution for ventilation needs.Constructed with heavy-duty stainless steel, the Safe-T-Vent™ reduces heat transfer and offers frictional spark resistance, making it suitable for hazardous locations. It features a fusible link that melts at 165°F (74℃), automatically closing the valve plate during a fire to protect the cabinet and its contents by stopping airflow. Brass bushings and washers ensure smooth and reliable valve operation.The damper connects to a venting system using 2-inch nominal NPT Schedule 40 steel pipe, providing non-combustible ducting and static management. Its reversible design prevents installation errors, as it blocks airflow in either direction. Each cabinet requires two dampers—one for fresh air intake and one for exhaust. Ideal for storing flammable liquids, pesticides, acids, corrosives, and other hazardous materials, the Safe-T-Vent™ is compatible with manual or self-closing Justrite safety cabinets.
